Andrew Park showcases a few new Media Center 2005 PCs including the Alienware DHS and HP Digital Entertainment Center, noting

”...only Microsoft has delivered true integration of computing and video entertainment.“

You can read the whole article here.  One thing to note, the HP Digital Entertainment Center currently available at HPShopping.com is the z540 (single tuner).  The z545 Andrew previewed will be released soon from what I understand (sorry, not date available).

This businessweek article is informative from an "overview" perspective, but there are some things that are a little unclear; mainly his statement (the one you quoted above):
"While Apple (AAPL ) bills its Macintosh -- also an outstanding choice for home buyers -- as the hub of digital entertainment, only Microsoft has delivered true integration of computing and video entertainment."

I'm not sure what he's referring to as "true integration". Aren't we just talking about a TV tuner, a hard drive, a DVD-R, and software from a variety of vendors? Is he talking about design? Because you can buy several cases that will fit in with your A/V components and none of them have anything to do with Microsoft. Surely he's not talking about file formats - Microsoft, along with many other formats, tend to segregate not integrate. So I have no ideae wtf he's talking about. But the article is a friendly read as an overview of what's out there.
