MCE 2005 Launch w/ Bill GatesCurrently employed as Director of Product Planning, Entertainment & Devices Division, former Director of  Microsoft Silverlight and Windows Digital Media manager.  Happily married to my college sweetheart and father of two boys age 5 and 1 years. Originally from the east coast, I am currently residing outside of Redmond, WA (near Seattle), I have been with Microsoft since 1997.  CTEC trained in Windows server administration and TCP/IP Networking. Passionate about digital media and consumer entertainment, I have had the good fortune to be involved with:

  • Visual Basic 6
  • Visual Studio
  • Windows Media Technologies
  • Windows Media Player
  • Windows XP
  • Photo Story 2
  • Windows Media Center Edition 2005
  • Windows Movie Maker
  • Windows Sidebar
  • Microsoft Silverlight
  • Microsoft Zune, Xbox, and related services

Highlights of these experiences include launching Windows XP and Media Center 2005 and co-accepting the Technical Emmy award for Windows Media technologies.  Member of the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

Writing and speaking credits include articles, whitepapers, and product materials for Microsoft product groups and Microsoft Press, including the foreword to "Advanced Visual Basic 6" by The Mandelbrot Set.  Some day I'll get around to linking to them here.

My first computer experience was an Apple II series.  Dabbled with Xerox Mini-mainframes and in college, VAX/VMS.  My first family computer was an IBM PCjr. Despite that experience*, I've gone on to use both Windows and Mac-based systems over the years. My first game console: Pong. I went on to enjoy Nintendo and Xbox. Suffered a multi-year addiction to Halo solved only by the birth of my son.

* Anyone remember the "Chiclet" keyboard?
